Fun Facts
I love to play any and all sports. Volleyball is my favorite sport to play, and I am currently the team captain of two teams. I enjoy challenging myself which is why I have participated in marathons, and will soon be participating in triathlons. I like most pets but dogs are easily my favorite, as I have two at home, but want a few more. I like to travel for the sole purpose of golfing, which is another one of my favorite sports to play. I enjoy listening to pretty much any style of music. Upbea
About Me
I am a Brophy College Preparatory graduate, and currently sophomore at Arizona State University, pursuing a major in mechanical engineering with a minor in materials science engineering. If my choice of major does not say it clear enough, I enjoy math and science extensively. Throughout all my years of school thus far, I have always enjoyed math and science classes over all others. I do, however, feel well versed in most core subjects up to a high school graduate level. I am an academically motivated individual, and believe in always giving one hundred percent. My work ethic is strong, which is necessary for the course rigor of an engineering major. My peers consider me personable and my close friends think I am a great listener. My teachers and mentors have called me mature and respectable, and my parents regard me as strong willed and very kind. I sustain high standards for myself because I believe my family, friends, and anyone i interact with deserves it. I am confident in myself and enjoy helping others gain the same type of confidence in themselves.
I feel I have much to offer with my experience in tutoring and mentoring positions. My time as a volunteer tutor at Downtown Urban Community Kids (DUCK) awarded me with great advising skills and experience teaching students from a broad spectrum of ages and among a wide range of subjects. I learned the ins and outs of mentoring and how to inspire motivation during my three years as a middle school athletics coach. To add to my mentoring repertoire, I was a member of the Brophy Big Brother program, in which I, as an upperclassman, advised the freshman in any area of need, strongly including academics. I also volunteered as a middle school math tutor during my freshman year of high school.
With personal experience to support my claim, I believe that academic help outside of the classroom is significantly useful, if not necessary for success. Students may be taught material by teachers, but students learn the mat
