Fun Facts

If there is something I love to do, i definitely has to be dancing. I tend to find myself dancing quite a it through out the day. My mother always said that it is due to how happy of a person I am. I am the one friend who is always happy and is always trying to uplift my friends whenever they are having a bad day.

About Me

I am a 20 year Biology major in my last semester in the university. My long term goal is to go to medical school to become a gynecologist. I intend to move back to Kenya and open a practice there. This is because I believe the health system there needs some work and this would be my way of giving back there.

Experience

In 2012, I had the opportunity of working in an elementary school where I helped students from the 3rd-7th grade with their homework assignments. We also went over any concepts of the day that they learnt which may not have made sense. I also currently teach a freshman chemistry laboratory class.

Approach

One thing I have grown to notice is that people tend to learn in different ways. Therefore using the same approach for every student may not work as well. I believe that finding out a students approach and implementing this will be successful. However, an approach I believe is the building block for everyone is learning and applying. For example, if it were math learning how to go about solving the problem then solving problems which are similar would aid students in better retaining information
