Fun Facts
One of my most favorite pastimes is to watch and play basketball. During the NBA season, you'll often find me watching game highlights. In the past, I have also been avid in distance running and weight lifting. One fun fact people are often surprised to learn about me is that I have lived across the United States and abroad.
About Me
In 2014, I graduated from the washington">University of Washington with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. I spent the year after working as a research technologist in the Schwartz Laboratory in the washington">University of Washington Medical Center. In 2015, I chose to pursue a Master's in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the health-and-science-university">Oregon Health and Science University. Recently, I scored well on the MCAT and am currently applying to medical schools.
Experience
I have had several unofficial tutoring and mentoring experiences. For the sports of running and weight-lifting, I have volunteered my time to coach friends and other gym-goers in learning proper techniques and finding inspiration. As a research technologist in the Schwartz laboratory, I have taught laboratory techniques to my students in the laboratory. Recently, I tutored my friend in her biochemistry course, which she ended up scoring an A in.
Approach
I believe that teaching is built upon a mentor-student relationship. As a mentor, it is important to me that my students trust me and feel comfortable asking me questions. I recognize that there are individual differences among the ways the students learn. Through this mentor student relationship, I will be able to learn individual strengths and weaknesses, and customize a lesson plan to individual needs.
