Fun Facts
I play saxophone, I'm currently learning Arabic, and I run track at Columbia University. I also enjoy movies very much and I'd be a professional movie watcher as a side job if it paid well.
About Me
I am from Baltimore and have lived there my entire life. My parents and most of my family immigrated from Jamaica. I attended a summer program at Cornell University for six weeks after my junior of high school and was a state champion 400m dash runner.
I have done freelance tutoring during my sophomore year of high school as well as during my junior and senior year as part of National Honor Society. I mainly tutored geometry. This past semester at Columbia I was a mentor in a classroom in Washington Heights and taught middle school students about study skills, teamwork, conflict resolution, sportsmanship, etc.
My tutoring approach involves mainly breaking down material and while developing a method to understand it. I allow the student to make the connections and identify the patterns to be able to deduce answers in unfamiliar situations. Basically, I aim for a holistic understanding.
