Fun Facts
I am currently studying the Hebrew language, which is incredibly fun and exciting! The teacher I have for this class is one of only a handful of teachers in the country who teach the language in an interactive and spoken-language manner! I also am and have been volunteering with the high school group at my church for the last two and a half years which has been a sweet and rewarding experience. I have also been to Hume Lake around 8 times as both counselor and camper! So fun!
About Me
I am a Psychology major at Fresno Pacific University, minoring in Biblical Studies. I received the Transfer Scholar Scholarship to attend and have also received Highest Honors for the Social Sciences Department for Spring 2013. With my degree, I hope to help people and trust God to do things that I never thought were possible.
I have tutored a sixth-grader in elementary math and geometry. This went very well and she greatly improved. I have also tutored two eighth-graders in history and science. These subject matters I was not as familiar with, but we still had success through our time together. I also tutored another eighth-grader in grammar. This appeared to help her quite a bit and she was very grateful.
The teachers that I found to have the most influence in my learning experience were those who seemed to genuinely care about my well-being and my education. They were people who lifted me up and encouraged me in my strengths and even in my weaknesses. In my tutoring sessions, I hope to encourage and strengthen the students I am working with and bring out the best in them so that they can learn effectively. In tutoring sessions, I hope to go over the content, practice study skills to enhance learning, and ask questions to help students learn the concepts and deepen their understanding of the subject matter!
