Fun Facts
I am a huge St. Louis sports fan, and hope to coach baseball or basketball someday. Though I have lived in rural Missouri most of my life, I feel more attracted to the city life. I have gone on on mission trips to both Jamaica and Honduras and hold a special place in my heart for those two countries.
About Me
I am a sophomore Mathematics and Secondary Education major at Butler University. I am a member of Butler's Honors College and currently hold a 3.772 GPA. When I graduate, I hope to teach high school math, and eventually work my way up to educational administration. I describe myself as a life-long learner and don't see an end to my education.
Experience
In high school, I tutored other students in algebra and statistics a few times a week. During my summers, I tutored elementary and middle school students to get ahead in mathematics. I have helped students with writing and ACT prep as well.
Approach
As a future math teacher, I have always wondered what kills the love of learning math in students. The main reason why I aspire to become a math teacher is to fix this. I firmly believe that children don’t hate math, but what they do hate is being confused, intimidated, and embarrassed by the subject. From my experience, I found that passion for math will not come without understanding it. I believe in a customizing a learning plan after assessment because all students learn differently.

Calculus I Tutoring
I took Calculus I through St. Louis University and Butler University. Through taking this course twice, I gained a great depth of understanding for the material. I finished with an A- at St. Louis University and a B at Butler University.
College Algebra Tutoring
I took College Algebra as a high school sophomore at my local community college and finished with an A. I found this course to be extremely helpful for Pre Calculus.
Education Tutoring
I have taken half of the education classes required for my major at Butler and have already had multiple experiences inside classrooms at every educational level.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
I took Pre Calculus in high school through St. Louis University and received an A.
Trigonometry Tutoring
I learned trigonometry in my Pre Calculus course in high school through St. Louis University and found it to be very useful in Calculus 1 through Calculus 3.
