Fun Facts
Anyone that knows me knows how much I love camp! I have been a camp counselor at three different camps for the past three years. I grew up going to camp and I have loved seeing my campers get out of their comfort zone and have the time of their lives!
About Me
I am a Communication Sciences and Disorders major at Butler University. I plan to earn my Masters degree in Speech Pathology at either Purdue University or Indiana University Bloomington. I have been a member of College Mentors for Kids and Peers Advocating Wellness for Students.
Experience
I was a literacy tutor for GiGi's Playhouse Nashville, a down syndrome achievement center, for two years in high school. I had four students in all. I helped my students graduate a nine week program where they learned how to read/develop advanced reading skills. We went through different subject units and had so much fun along the way!
Approach
When I was a kid I always seemed to struggle in school. I appreciated teachers and tutors who were willing to sit down with me and see exactly what I needed from them. I appreciated patience and understanding. I like to take the same approach with my students. It is important to me that my students are learning effectively and that they're engaged and having fun. Learning should be something you look forward to, not something that you dread!

English Tutoring
In middle school English was my favorite subject. I had a passion for reading and discussing literature. I always helped my friends with English homework.
Writing Tutoring
Writing has always been a passion of mine. I have always done well on papers and I have found that I write with ease because it is something I am passionate about. I have a lot of experience with editing and providing constructive criticism to peers on their papers.
Math Tutoring
Math has never been my best subject, but I have always been tutored in math. I understand how important patience is and how hard math can be. Without my tutor I would have never been able to do well in math.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I was a literacy tutor for kids with Down Syndrome for two years. I loved seeing them develop into skilled readers who did not want to put their books down! I have always loved to read and sharing that love for reading has been so rewarding.
Social Studies Tutoring
I have always been passionate about and excelled at social studies. I find history to be fascinating and I love to talk about it! I won the history award in Middle School for excelling in US History.
Study Skills Tutoring
As a college student, I understand how important developing good study skills early is. Through elementary school, middle school, high school, and college I have developed excellent study skills. I know that everyone is different and I love helping people figure out exactly what works for them!
