Fun Facts

I went on a study abroad my senior year of High School to Santiago, Chile. I also got to play soccer there which is the most popular sport down in Chile. I love getting to know people from other countries, many of my friends are international students. When I graduate I would love to go overseas and teach English to other language speakers.

About Me

I am the oldest of four children. I am going to for my English Teaching degree with a minor in spanish but I have a passion for going over to South Korea and China to teach English there. I love playing and watching soccer games as well as reading in my free time. I also write short stories and poems in my freetime. I am currently writing my first novella.

I have not had much tutoring experience. I have three younger sibilings whom I have helped on many occasions with their homework. My friends at the University ask me constantly to help them with their grammar in their papers. I have also sat down one-on-one with my friends to help them with Spanish preparation.

My tutoring experience is one that would be collaborative between my student and myself. I want the student to succeed by getting the answer on their own because if I were to give all the answers that person would be learning nothing. I will use a scaffolding method as I begin asking the student questions that they should know the answer to and slowly building onto that so he or she can get the answer to what she or he does not know.
