Fun Facts
I just graduated in May 2013 from Loyola Marymount University. I enjoy working with kids and I am very personable and patient. One of my greatest passions is playing basketball. I played intramurals while in college and even won the championship one year. Another passion of mine is travelling. During my college years I had the unique opportunity of studying abroad in Germany; it was an experience I will never forget and one I hope to relive.
About Me
I grew up in the Bay Area and moved to LA for college. I graduated in May 2013 from Loyola Marymount and I am currently pursuing my master's degree in mechanical engineering also from LMU. During my undergraduate career I made the Dean's list all four years and I was vice president of an engineering honor society known as Tau Beta Pi.
My greatest tutoring experience came when I worked as a camp counselor for an organization known as champions science adventures. At the camp I prepared and led lessons that were about various topics in science ranging from biology to astrology. I led the kids in activities and attempted to teach them scientific principles in a fun and applicable manner. I also tutored a close friend who was struggling with college algebra while he was playing on the football team. I met with him twice a week and went over homeworks and tests with him and helped him maintain high enough grades to stay on the team.
My tutoring approach is all about positive reinforcement. I understand that people can struggle with concepts that may seem easy to me. I emphasize hard work and I encourage my pupils as much as possible.
