Fun Facts

I have an extensive music background- I have been playing the bass since I was in fourth grade. I am an All-State, All-Long Island and All-County musician with experience in jazz, symphonic, chamber and pit band settings. I also play the violin, viola, cello, and piano. I have performed at Lincoln Center three times! I am fluent in French and have a love for all things French, from French food to French music.

About Me

I am a junior at Fordham University at Lincoln Center. I transferred to Fordham in fall of 2012 after a year at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam where I was studying to be a music teacher. I graduated from Kings Park High School in 2011 in the top 1% of my class and with the distinction of an AP Scholar (I received a 4 on my AP World exam and a 5 on my AP European, AP World, AP US, AP Government, AP Composition, and AP Literature examinations).
I hope to pursue a career in education after attaining my degree in History. I plan to become a professor at a University level and combine my major in History and minor in French to specialize in French History. Ideally, I would love to create an interdisciplinary curriculum that ties together history, the arts and literature.
Personally, I am a very dedicated and determined person- when I devote myself to a to a job I do it with all my heart. I have a passion for learning and for helping others find their love of learning.

I started tutoring when I was in 10th grade. The middle school orchestra teacher had just left so I offered to teach the bassists until a new teacher was found so that the students did not become discouraged. When I was in 12th grade, I lead a tutoring program that matched members of the French National Honor Society with struggling French students in the High School. As a part of this program, I tutored students preparing for the New York State Regents. I worked on both speaking and grammer skills with the students.
Last summer I taught bass and violin at Northport-East Northport Summer Music camp. I was assigned all beginning students and at the end of the program, all of my students were admitted into the highly selective Northport Music Department. During the session I taught music theory and music history in addition to basic musicianship skills.
