About Me
I am 21 years old, a Senior at Arizona State University and I love teaching. I feel that education truly defines the rest of my life as I plan on being a life-long learner. I am currently pursuing the idea of going to Law School and hope to have my JD in the future. I work hard at everything I do because everything I have now, I have worked very diligently for. Currently I also volunteer for North Star Catholic Charities and I work with guiding middle school students towards making healthy choices in their personal, academic, and family lives. I really love working with kids because that is all I did growing up, and being involved with youth is something that I really cherish. I feel that I have excellent communication skills and that I am able to relate to all age groups very well because of this.
I was a private nanny/phoenix">tutor from January 2011 to August 2012 to five children all under the age of 12. We worked on all subject areas and my favorite was teaching them math and english-- history was also a blast. We were expected to move through all subjects every day. Then, after moving away, I became a private phoenix">tutor for a young Chinese college student from September 2012-January 2013. My job here was to teach him how to write, read and speak English in order for him to test into ASU's courses. He was able to successfully test in to courses this Spring Semester and we meet periodically on certain assignments.
I personally believe that it is impossible to fail. A student should be given endless opportunities to master their work. If at first a student does not succeed, I will do my personal best to help them master it-- no matter how long it takes. I also believe that grades in school, on assignments, and on homework are not based on a students 'intelligence', rather, these grades are based on the level of hard work students put into these things. Therefore, my personal phoenix">tutoring approach is to work with the student at whatever pace THEY set, and make sure I am there
