I enjoy arts and crafts and making educational games. I am creative and enjoy working with children.

About Me

I am a retired elementary teacher. I graduated from Purdue University in 1981 and received my Teaching Certification in Elementary Education from the University of Texas in Austin in 1993. I now reside in Indianapolis, IN. I want to continue helping children (K-2) with reading and math skills.

Experience

I taught Kindergarten and second grade in Texas. I also did some after school tutoring programs there as well. The children enjoyed the Apple Dumpling Gang(Reading and Writing Activities) and Marshmallow Math. I have brought them here to Indianapolis. I don't have worksheets to do over and over. My kids have puzzles, games, and manipulatives to work with to solve math problems.

Approach

I approach each child as having a unique learning style. So, I prepare lessons for each kid. Some children prefer to work with their hands, others are visual learners. Having a variety of activities is helpful, so I can offer what a child can choose.
