About Me
My name is Ify U. My passion for math and science began at a very young age. In my freshman year of high school, I decided to enhance and challenge myself in the sciences by applying and enrolling in a program called Science Tools and Techniques. For one semester, I spent half of my day learning about 10 different science subjects. Additionally, math has always been something that I enjoyed doing and comes natural to me. Although it is tricky at times, the challenge of solving the answer has always been my motivation.
I graduated from the miami">University of Miami with a major in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry in May 2013. I understand the hard work and dedication it takes to be successful in your studies. I also know that learning is an ongoing process and that is why I love to atlanta">tutor. Students can improve in their learning and it sometimes only takes a little push in the right direction!
I'm ready to get started when you are!
I tutored my peers in high school as well as my sisters' peers, from grades 9 - 12. Additionally, I was a pioneer for a atlanta">tutoring program called Project Rebound. I taught reading to a couple of first graders in the Spring of 2009 in order for them to pass and exceed their statewide standardize testing, which they did! I continued to atlanta">tutor in college through a non-profit organization called Breakthrough Miami. There I tutored 6th and 7th graders in various subjects, including social studies, math, English, etc.
Additionally, I tutored my friends in college in basic math, pre-algebra, and calculus. With this experience, I am confident I can help you sharpen your study skills so you can truly understand the material.
My atlanta">tutoring approach in the past has been relatively simple. Wherever the parent or student stresses their need for improvement is what I try to focus on the most. I listen to the student first and then begin to instruct with conversation to make sure that the student understands.
