Fun Facts
I have a very friendly personality, I believe that I am very outgoing and my friends love that about me. I really love to go out and have a good time with friends. In the future, I do hope to travel more just to experience different cultures. I really love nature, but I haven’t had much chance to explore the outdoors like to want to. For example, I would like to start going hiking and do outdoorsy adventurous things but haven’t had a real chance yet. Also, I am a really big music fan.
About Me
I am an Occupational Therapy student at the City University of New York- York College where I am currently in my second year of pursuing my BS/MS in Occupational Therapy and a minor in Psychology. I will graduate in 2019. I have been on the Dean’s List since I started the college in 2011. Ultimately, I will earn a PhD in Neuropsychology. In the future, I profess to become an Occupational Therapist with a specialty in Neuropsychology.
Experience
I am a tutor at the York College’s Academic Achievement Center. I tutor courses related to my major. These include courses such as A&P, NeuroScience, and Kinesiology. I also tutor undergraduate courses such as: College Algebra, Statistics, Writing, Psychology and Philosophy. I have been working at the center since 2013. I also worked as a note-taker at York College’s Student with Disabilities Center, where I interpret class lectures and provide legible notes for students with disabilities.
Approach
One of the most important things I’ve learned as a tutor is that it is very important to be patient. With patience the most difficult task becomes easy. Additionally, I believe that a tutor's job is to help his/her students to understand the difference between trying harder and giving up. Many students have the ability to do more than they think they’re capable of. My job as a tutor is to help them realize that.
