Fun Facts
I am a yoga loving art therapist who enjoys working with and learning from the many innovative youths among us. I appreciate art in all forms from visual art to music, dance, poetry, and creative writing. I love challenging hikes and climbs even though I am afraid of being eaten by mountain lions.
About Me
I have been well trained in working with children and families as I have recently completed my masters in Marriage & Family Therapy and Art Therapy.
As a graduate of Loyola Marymount University (MA) and Rutgers University(BA), a former volunteer for hospice services, a former trainee at an adult day care center, and a recent trainee at a special needs school, I feel confident that I can provide excellent customer care and meet your expectations of a tutor. In my time volunteering for hospice, I was able to guide patients in creative endeavors and to lend my help and support where I could. This experience reinforced my decision to ultimately work in a helping profession.
At my most recent placement, a special needs school, I had the privilege of working with and learning from children and adolescents from K-12th grade with extensive diagnoses from cognitive impairments to emotional disturbances. I learned that avoiding short cuts gives our youth a more solid foundation from which to grow from. Therefore, I believe in a comprehensive approach to teaching. "Give a (wo)man a fish and you feed him/her for a day. Teach a (wo)man to fish and you feed him/her for a lifetime."
