Fun Facts
If asked, any one of my friends would say that my unique characteristic is my love for handstands. However, that is an oversimplification. I was a gymnast throughout high school as well as a cheerleader and I loved both the sports (in college i have also joined the circus program as well as gymnastics club). I am the youngest of 4 boys raised in the suburbs of Chicago. I also love learning about different cultures and languages.
About Me
I am a first year, prospective Environmental Science and Philosophy double major at the chicago">University of Chicago. I hope to travel after graduation and immerse myself in different cultures while learning about infrastructure around the world. I then hope to attend Stanford University for Graduate school with a specialization in environmental engineering and sustainability.
Experience
In high school I was a member and officer of the National Honor Society and was required to volunteer a certain amount of hours per year, many of which I did in the math tutoring or reading centers. I also was a member of our "Freshmentoring" program in which upper classmen took a class out of their schedule to help the freshmen in their high school. Our responsibilities included teaching the freshmen technology skills, study skills, tutor them in all subjects and keep track of their grades.
Approach
I have always found, when trying to understand a situation fully, that a general education of the background of the topic is especially helpful in learning the content. A broad to concentrated focus, I feel, helps keep students' attention and helps in the general understanding. I hope to use this concept as well as an encouraging attitude and tenacious teaching as a tutor.

I have Taken a total of 5 complete years of Spanish and received a 4 on the AP Spanish Language test, granting me the language proficiency requirement for the college. I also speak the language amongst certain friends and find it very fun to practice and teach.

I also just finished my first quarter at UChicago receiving a B+ in my calculus course.

I took the AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition courses junior and senior year, although I did opt out of the tests as they were not helpful for me in terms of college credit. I am also currently enrolled in a linguistics/writing class at UChicago.

I took AP Physics 1&2 my junior year of high school (2014-2015) and maintained A's throughout the course. I also took the AP Physics tests and received a 4 and 5 in AP Physics 1 and 2 respectively. I am also taking Chemistry at UChicago which also implements a fair amount of physics knowledge.
