Fun Facts
I am a lover of running and healthy living in general. Being active whether its hiking, swimming, trail running, or kayaking is what makes me happy. I love being outside in warmer weather. I was born and raised in St. Louis, MO. I have a younger brother who is 18 and one of my best friends. I love traveling and hope to get the use of my Spanish minor by visiting many Latin American countries. I went on a study abroad trip to Belize in summer 2015 and it was absolutely amazing.
About Me
I am a senior at Westminster College in Fulton, MO. I am studying to become a high school science teacher with a major in Secondary Education and certification in General Sciences as well as a Spanish minor. I am a very driven individual as can be seen from my consecutive semesters on the Dean's List, membership in Greek and Education Honor Societies, high involvement on campus, and membership on the Cross Country team. I plan to be a high school science teacher in St. Louis as well as a coach.
Experience
I was a tutor at Westminster College for a BIO 100 course last year and have had the opportunity to interact with college and high school aged students frequently due to my education background. Many of my practicum experiences have been in high schools, but I also have experience with grade school aged children through volunteer work and school observations. I think that tutoring would be a great way for me to use my teaching skills and working for Frog Tutoring would give me that opportunity.
Approach
I have been a good student since adolescence, but I do know the struggles of students who overload themselves with upper level courses and too many extra curricular activities. It can be absolutely exhausting and students may feel as if there is never a time that they will have everything finished. Even though I have not struggled so much academically, I was always the first person to volunteer to help students who did not understand the material and I will do that for these students as well.
