Fun Facts
I love animation, especially Disney, (who doesn't?). I take great joy in getting to know people and their hobbies and I enjoy partaking in new activities in or outdoors. Videogames, biking, or watching movies, pets, I am there! Especially if you add my favorite food, pizza, or chinese, or spicy food...okay, let's just say food in general. I draw as a hobby but relaxing is my fun activity.
About Me
I am a college graduate who primarily works with children with dissabilites. I am in school now as a graduate student, working towards a master's degree. I want to use my knowledge in helping children better themselves and improve their capabilites. I still love tutoring, becasue the school can never fully give the one on one personalization needed for sucess. I hope to increase my work with children either working in education or in a clinical setting.
Experience
I have three years exopereince working with children as a tutor and a homework help. I have worked with a few peers in college as well. I also have two year's experience working with adults with dissabilites and continue my work in both fields. On my off days, I volunteer at my local church leading Sunday school and volunteer at the local ranch helping children with improve their motor skills while they ride horses.
Approach
My approach when working with children is to get to know the child first. I work within their strengths, and if at all possible I work to make learning fun. This may include making multiplication into a musical chairs game, or playing hot potato while leanring spelling words, or using tabloids to improve writing. Many of my games work better with younger children, but with those in late elementary to high school, I find that just letting the individual express themselves is great.

I have three years expereince workign with elementary students on their homeowork, byt helping them understand the work and learn the skills needed on staying focused and completing their work to the best of their abilites.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have three years expereince workign with reading comprehension. Improving how the student sounds out words and how they understand what they read. To help, I utilized creative writing to help students find an interest in reading and improve their focuse on retaingin information.
Social Studies Tutoring
My expereince with social studies has been along the lines of studying, and reading. I have two years experience with this, adn my approach is usually to make a game of studying the information.
Microsoft PowerPoint Tutoring
I have used powerepoint all through highschool and college. I have not tutoredd in this program, but I have helped friends and family when it cam to making thero presentaions more dynamic and improving the look of it.
Microsoft Word Tutoring
I have not tutotred in microsoft word, but have used the program all though highschool and college. I can help an individual work through the program and look over their essays and help improve the writing.
