Fun Facts

I really love to read novels. One summer when I was in High School I read over 60 books. Most of my spare time now is spent listening to music and crocheting. I love to make little animals and other creatures for people. My biggest crochet project I have completed is a rainbow blanket in the shape of a star. I also really love singing and was in choir all four years of High School. People always tell me that they love my smile.

About Me

Hi my name is Sionna and I am from the Sacramento area but live in San Francisco during the school year. I really love to help people out whether it be with schoolwork or otherwise. I am currently majoring in Japanese at San Francisco State University. I hope that after college I can become a Japanese translator and translate books and movies.

The only people I have tutored before have been my little brother and a friend of mine. I helped my brother with English and Math when he was in Middle School and then I helped my friend with College Algebra although I realized that towards the end of the semester he was learning things I had forgotten so I couldn't help too much in the last chapter.
I also proofread essays for my friends in any of their classes and I am trying to help them improve their writing skills.

As for how I tutor I like working the problem out with the person I am helping. I want them to know what they are doing and understand what I am explaining before moving onto the next topic. So that I know they understand I give practice problems or ask for examples from them. If the topic was difficult to grasp at a prior meeting I always make sure to ask again if they still understood the next time I saw them.
