Fun Facts
Since I was in High School, I've been learning how to dance. I've been lucky enough to meet different types of dancers from all over the world, and learn from them as well. I've worked with my college's dance team, and even joined a dance company in NYC for a little over a year. When it was nearing the end of my senior college semester, I was teaching a couple of classes and have the time of my life doing so.
About Me
I am a 1st year graduate student at hall-university">Seton Hall University tracking Speech-Language Pathology with an Bachelor's in Education, and a minor in Environmental Studies. I have six semesters of internship experience, and have worked with a variety of different students. When I graduate I hope to work with adults and elderly patients for speech and swallowing difficulties in a hospital or private practice.
Experience
Being an Education major in undergrad, I've worked with different levels of students from kindergarten to 6th grade in an educational setting. I always focused on working with struggling students to alleviate anymore work from the teachers. Additionally, I tutored Statistics for Social Science on my college campus for a semester. I even spent a year working with children at a more play based summer camp where I had the opportunity to interact with children away from academics.
Approach
I've learned through my undergraduate experience that the best method of approach when working with children is to understand their level of understanding, and build off of it in order to maximize their chances for success, no matter how little it may be. Patience is a virtue an all situation as one must not focus on helping others memorize information but, instead, strive for genuine understanding of the content in a fun and interesting manner. I try to make session fun and enjoyable.
