Fun Facts
I was a competitive gymnast for over 15 years and have traveled to every continent except for Antarctica! I am conversationally fluent in Spanish, thanks to a year long home stay I spent in Ecuador after college. I also used to work in a Japanese restaurant, so I know how to roll my own sushi! I also enjoy salsa dancing, photography, and anything outdoors.
About Me
I am currently a Doctor of Physical Therapy student at Rutgers University and a part-time Research Assistant. I completed my bachelor of science degree in public health at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA in 2012. In between my educational paths, I spent a gap-year in Ecuador learning Spanish and 2 years as a HealthCorps Coordinator for Dr. Oz's non-profit in NYC teaching fitness, nutrition, and mental resilience to high school students.
Experience
During my 2 years as a high school HealthCorps Coordinator, I had the opportunity teach and mentor students on a daily basis, as well as tutor kids in subjects such as English, Spanish, Science, and Culinary Arts. I also gained a wealth of experience as a camp counselor, babysitter, and gymnastics instructor prior to attending college and my full time teaching position. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to impact even more students that need help!
Approach
Balancing competitive gymnastics and school as a child ignited my strong work-ethic and sense of self-discipline that I hope to pass on to my students. During my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, I have learned to approach all individuals with empathy, a positive attitude, and a high level of patience. I treat each of my students like I do my patients - with utmost dignity and respect. Most importantly, I aim to help people build the study skills they need to reach their full potential.
