Fun Facts
I'm from New Jersey but I love going to school in New Orleans. I also love dogs and am fostering one this semester! I also used to have two giant english mastiffs when I was growing up.
About Me
I am a senior at Tulane University. I am a double major in international relations and international development. I'm hoping to go to law school within the next two years.
In high school, I was in National Honors' society and tutored throughout high school both in school and after school.
Experience
Throughout high school I tutored many students in elementary, middle and high school a few days after school. In college, I am now part of an after school tutoring program that brings students from the area to Tulane once a week for homework help.
Approach
Growing up, it wasn't the actual school work that was challenging for me but keeping everything organized. I had a teacher that taught us study skills and found that to be one of the most helpful tips for me to stay organized and focused on my work. With students I have tutored in the past, I have always tried to make sure they were able to stay focused on what work they had to do. I find that this helps without overwhelming them and they can do better on their work.

Algebra Tutoring
In middle school and high school I was always in advanced math for my grade. I always got straight A's in math and algebra was my favorite.
AP English Tutoring
I took AP English in high school senior year. English was always one of my favorite subjects because I love to read and write. Freshman year of college I took a writing class and got an A in the class. I also write papers in many of my classes so I have had a lot of experience with writing.

In high school I was in honors history sophomore and senior year for US history as well as World History. Last year I took a modern Middle East history class. I really enjoy history and feel very passionate and comfortable talking about many different history subjects and time periods.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
English was always my best subject. I scored a 700 on reading comprehension on my SATs.

I was in honors Spanish throughout high school. I also took a full year of Spanish in college and made it to a 3000 level class. I still remember a lot of the basics and even more advanced skills from Spanish.

I always had difficulty when I was younger with study skills and keeping myself organized. I am not a naturally organized person but have learned what works best for me in order to stay focused and keep my school work organized which has helped me be able to teach other people what to do.

This past semester I tutored an 8th grade girl once a week in all subjects. All around, I felt I was able to help her with whatever homework she had for the week and she did well on her tests that I helped her study for.
