Fun Facts

One fun fact about me is that I absolutely LOVE to travel and learn about different cultures! During the Summer of 2016, I travelled to London, Paris, and Rome on an educational scholarship. It was an amazing experience that I will never forget! I also enjoy teaching and helping people gain an enhanced perspective on topics like history and political science.

About Me

I am a junior Political Science major at Texas State University. I've made the Dean's List three times (going on four) and I have a 4.0 GPA. When I graduate, I would like to attend either an Ivy League college or an international college--preferably L'Universite de Sorbonne-Paris in Paris, France. My ultimate goal is to work internationally with the U.S Department of State as a Foreign Policy Analyst. After that, I would like to achieve my PhD and teach at an international college.

Experience

While I have no formal tutoring experience that can be backed by an accredited institution, I have, however, voluntarily taught study groups in many of my classes. I've held study groups for political science, history, sociology, art history, college writing, and biology. Many of my peers who attended my study sessions reported that their overall performance increased significantly after attending. They also reported that their test scores went up 5 to 10 points (that's one full letter grade)

Approach

When tutoring students, I try to utilize a holistic approach by looking at the whole student and analyzing their specific needs. Every student is different---they have different preferences, learning styles, needs, and goals. By utilizing a holistic approach, I can easily connect with students on a professional, interpersonal level and address their differences head on. I usually do this by building a profile on the student and organizing my lesson plans to reflect their individual needs.
