Fun Facts

I did ballet for 10 years and am still very passionate about dance. I taught dance to 3 year old children and 7 year old children in high school. I play paintball in one of the world's largest games and have played there for 5 years. I am an only child and originally from New Orleans. I love food, but I can bake better than I can cook.

About Me

I am a sophomore at Rhodes College. I am majoring in neuroscience and minoring in gender and sexuality studies and have a 3.73 GPA. I am currently the student curator for the Memphis Art Project and have been for about a year. After college I plan on going to medical school and becoming a psychiatrist. My life long dream is to open a women's and children's shelter that focuses on job training and education.

Experience

During high school I would sit in on my teachers office hours and help others while the teachers were busy. I tutored many students in pre-calculus at another high school in New Orleans, because their course was entirely online. While in college I have helped peers in statistics and neuroscience courses. I have also been doing online tutoring to help people get their GEDs.

Approach

I have always found school easy, and it was hard for me to see classmates and friends struggle to get good grades while doing more work than I had to. I was constantly helping people, because it did not seem fair to me that I was able to skate through so easily. I felt their hard work deserved a better pay off. Some students just need one on one attention, but it is so rewarding to see a light bulb turn on and people understand concepts. Everyone deserves to learn in a way that fits them best.
