Fun Facts
In middle school my father bought me a model rocket set. Engines, wings, hull, nose, parachute, I was in love. Every time I got straight A's he would take me to the store and get me a new rocket and we would spend every Sunday drinking root beer and building our rocket in the garage. Watching my first rocket careen into the open sky sparked my love for science. I was kind of like Jake Gyllenhaal in October Sky. Early on I learned the rewards of good grades and the fun of science and technology!
About Me
I was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, but spent my childhood in a small town called Zionsville. Around middle school my family and I moved to Katy, TX outside of Houston. After graduating from Cinco Ranch High School in 2009 I moved to Denton to attended the University of North Texas and obtain a degree in chemistry.
As a middle school student I was in our PAT mentoring program and would go to the neighboring elementary school and tutor students in math and science. Helping others learn the subjects I loved was very rewarding to me. Creating excitement for someone who previously didn't like math or science was a tremendous experience. I continued to work in the math and science tutoring labs at Cinco Ranch and immediately looked for a position tutoring and mentoring in college. That's when I found Frog Tutoring!
Excitement and energy! My goal with every student I help is to get them genuinely excited to learn. Math doesn't have to be just numbers and science just equations; creating a real connection to the world through math and science is something most people don't receive that I like to provide. I really enjoy creating personal relationships with my students and working to create a comfortable environment where we can learn together. I'll be pleased to meet you!
