Fun Facts
I love to play and watch soccer. I also love being outdoors and hiking with my 5 dogs. I am the youngest of 3 and I have a 5 year old niece.
About Me
I am a teacher at a high school in Charlotte, NC. I have been teaching Spanish for almost 5 years and have a certification in social studies as well. I have traveled to 13 other countries and am fluent in both English and Spanish and have also learned basic French.
Experience
I have been tutoring off and on since college (graduated in 2010) and have taught high school for almost 5 years. I did not discover my love of teaching until after I graduated from college and completed a year of service with AmeriCorps in Oregon. It was there that I first worked with students who were not my peers and found out how much I loved helping kids grow into successful adults.
Approach
As a native English speaker learning Spanish in school, I saw various styles of teaching the subject. I have combined what I liked to make my own style that helps students to learn in several ways. I use songs, and memorization tools to help students with grammar and vocabulary and help them to feel successful in using the language in everyday life.
