Fun Facts

I participated in a dance tour with my school's group in Austria, Germany and italy.

I still love the classic Disney movies.

I taught swim lessons last summer so I'm CPR and First Aid certified for young kids.

I ran a half marathon this past June in Fort Worth.

I started a running/nutrition blog.

I didn't get my tonsils out until I was 18 years old.

About Me

I'm from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I'm 19 years old. I'm an incoming sophomore to TCU. I'm in a sorority, Alpha Delta Pi, on campus. I love running, swimming, doing anything outside and athletic as long as I have bug spray because I hate bugs. I would rather eat fruits and yogurt for a snack than candy the majority of the time. I've played sports my entire life. I've always had pretty good grades. My high school/middle school was one of the most challenging schools in the Baton Rouge area so I've always had to work for my grades, none of them were handed to me. I think this gives me a good base to teach kids younger than me to time manage, stay dedicated and be proud of their efforts in school.

No specific tutoring experience, but I babysit a lot for kids and help them when they ask for it.

I think a big part of kids being reluctant to do homework or procrastinate is that homework loads for one night have become overwhelming. Breaking it down into smaller time increments with 5 minute breaks to text or get a snack can help make it less daunting. Also teaching them how to prioritize based on the time needed for assignments and when they are due. Planners are my best friend, they help keep me sane with all my activities and assignments so I would use print outs from the computer if the student doesn't have a planner to help them start seeing how useful it can be.
