Fun Facts
I am an avid reader, whose interest in Literature stems from a lifetime of reading stories and fiction. I write poetry recreationally and hope to be published. My real passion however, is running. I run for the Women's UCSD Cross Country Team and spend most of my spare time training!
About Me
I am a junior Literature major at UCSD. I have made Provost Honors for 5 quarters and made the Athletic Director’s Honor Role for all six quarters. After graduation, I hope to attend a prestigious university to get my PhD in Literature. My ultimate goal is to be a English and Literature Professor at a small liberal arts university.
My tutoring experience spans from 2009-2013. I have tutored a few students with one on one mathematics tutoring, specifically in algebra and geometry. My senior year, I had the opportunity to peer tutor during lunch across a range of Mathematics level. I formally tutored a student in writing personal statements for college applications. Finally, in college I had the opportunity to tutor peers in college level writing courses. For the 2013 Fall Quarter I have been selected, by two different professors, to be an Undergraduate Instructional Apprentice in Writing Poetry and Writing Non fiction. My responsibilities will include group tutoring sessions every week. Working for Frog Tutoring gives me the opportunity to continue to work with students to help them excel and learn.
I was fortunate enough to work with wonderful teachers throughout my education that have insisted on positivity, persistency and repetition in order to learn complex or confusing ideas. My tutoring approach thus stems from practice, repetition, and cultivating good study habits. The goal is to learn how to apply good study habits to all work, and for me to exist as a guide, not an answer key, to the questions students have. Ultimately, I hope to bring the positivity and focus my teachers brought to me to all my sessions.
