Fun Facts
After finishing my undergraduate degree in Nebraska I lived for a year in Berlin, Germany, on a research grant from the German government. I no longer play the trumpet regularly but my love of jazz hasn't diminished at all. I am enthusiastic about learning!
About Me
I have a master's degree in the humanities from the chicago">University of Chicago. Although I am enrolled in a PhD program, I am currently taking time off from my degree in order to pursue a career as a freelance writer. Before that I lived in Berlin, Germany for a year working as a research assistant. I got my bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska, where I am from originally, in 2013, graduating with a 3.9 GPA.
Experience
I have significant experience teaching and tutoring at many levels. I was a teaching assistant for several classes as an undergraduate. At the same time I tutored in calculus, statistics and logic. Additionally, I have worked as a tutor at the elementary level, working with students behind grade level in reading and writing.
Approach
Coming from a family of educators, I have appreciated the challenges and thrills of knowledge from an early age. Growing up I learned that the back and forth of question and answer can be very rewarding. The key is having the confidence and the ability to ask the right question. As a tutor, I place emphasis on the skills for dealing with the subject matter.

I can tutor in ancient Greek. I took an intensive Greek course at UC Berkeley, and continued to learn the language at the University of Chicago.
