One of my favorite hobbies is baking, and I enjoy trying new recipes. I also enjoy playing tennis and ping pong. In my free time, I like to explore new parts of Los Angeles and surrounding areas, such as restaurants, markets, and beaches.
About Me
I am a recent graduate from UCLA and majored in Physiological Science. I come from a Pakistani background. I consider myself to be very patient, friendly, and hard working. I have experience working with kids in a tutoring and mentoring environment, and I truly enjoy working with them.
During my spring quarter, I was tutoring a high school freshman in geometry, biology, history, and english. I went to his house two to three times a week for two hours. We would review concepts, go through his homework together, and I would teach him skills and tricks to master the concepts and figure out solutions to homework problems.
I first like to review the concepts in regards to the homework/problems we are doing, so I can make sure the student understands before we attempt problems and also so I can give any tricks or advice to help them understand. Then I let the student look over the problem and tell me how he/she plans on attacking it. I then give my input on the approach and let the student solve the problem. If I know another way or a faster way to reach the solution, I tell the student at the end after they have solved it on their own. If I see the student is making a mistake, I tell them to look over their work to check if they see anything wrong.
