Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is that I absolutely love giraffes! My dream in life is to go to Africa to see them roaming free. I am the only girl in my family and I have 3 little brothers. I currently live in Memphis, which is far from my home in Massachusetts but I love every second of it.

About Me

I currently lead a team of individuals at City Year which is an education non-profit. At City Year we providing tutoring in coursework, as well as after school programs, and additionally programming. I originally went to college for criminal justice and social work however I found my true passion working with students and have spent the last two years doing just that. I am excited to say I have been offered a position teaching second grade starting next September.

Experience

As a part of City Year I have spent the last two years providing academic and behavioral assistance to students grades k-5. I also have brief experience as a homework coach for students in grades 6 and 7.

Approach

I struggled through school my entire life, my approach to tutoring is through empowerment. If someone does not have a belief in themselves they will never achieve at the caliber they are capable of. I start out easy to build up students confidence before moving into more challenging content. I want my students to be successful but more importantly I want them to feel successful.
