About Me

I am currently a junior at the miami">University of Miami double majoring in Elementary ed and psychology. I have had years of experience with children. I have worked with a range of students ages 4-17. I started off teaching Sunday school at my church. And I moved into other aspects such as volunteering at a daycare and being a student intern at the YMCA. I am currently working on becoming a certified teacher so I work in the classrooms instructing grades K-3. I have a passion for mentoring and working with children which is why I volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sister organization and I also mentor a group of young ladies at my church. I am also in the pursuit of developing my own community center which will serve the children of the community and help them stay out of trouble. I am very patient, fun loving, and passionate about anything I do. Once I put my mind to getting something accomplished, there is no other way.

I first began miami">tutoring some of my peers in high school. I helped them with subjects such as algebra/florida/miami">Pre Algebra, Algebra, Chemistry, and Latin. I also have a praise dance group comprised of 20 young ladies who are primarily in middle school and I help them with their math, reading, and science work. Also, I am a mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization where I help a groups of elementary school students (grades 2-5) with their homework.

To begin every miami">tutoring relationship with my students, I make it clear that they are in a judge free zone. I make sure they know that my number one priority is to see them succeed in what they attempt. I also establish an atmosphere where it is comfortable and my students are at ease and feel cared about. As for helping my students understand the subject, I try my best to relate the subject to things they are interested in.
