About Me
I am a senior Accounting major, Spanish minor at TCU. I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. This year I will be an RA in Samuleson Hall and am also the Vice President of External Volunteering for Women's Business Network. In my spare time I love running and photography. I love working with younger kids in any aspect. I have volunteered with TCU Leaps, mentor programs and also done various mission trips.
I have volunteered with the College Resource Tutoring Program the past two years through TCU. In the program, I tutored children of TCU faculty and staff. This consisted of elementary, middle, and high-schoolers. In high school, I was involved in the Millard North Mustang Mentor Program. With this program, I met with a group of students every Friday morning to mentor them on life, school, and their goals for the year.
I believe that in order to tutor students effectively, I have to find a common interest and relate to them. They cannot feel embarrassed or scared to tell me that they don't understand the material. In past years, I have gotten to know the kids I tutor by first asking them a little bit about what they like to do outside of school. I feel a deeper connection with them when we can relate on a similar hobby or interest. This makes the child feel more at ease and comfortable with me.
