Fun Facts

JI am a huge racing fan! I came all the way to North Carolina with hopes of working in NASCAR. I prefer dirt track racing, but I'm always up for other types of racing too; including NASCAR, Indycar, and F1. I'm an only child and come from a town of about 6,000. In high school, I played the tuba in both the marching and symphonic bands.

About Me

I am a young guy from Ohio. I study mechanical engineering at charlotte">UNC Charlotte, with hopes of working in NASCAR some day. I am a sophomore at UNCC and am just now getting into my core mechanical engineering courses.

Experience

During high school, I helped many students of varying ages. At the high school level, I helped students with Chemistry and calculus/north-carolina/charlotte">Pre Calculus. At the middle school level, I helped students algebra/north-carolina/charlotte">Pre Algebra and Algebra 1. I also helped students with fundamental math skills in the elementary level.

Approach

I believe that the greatest way to help with a child's learning is to let them teach themselves. If a teacher or tutor is constantly telling the student how to do whatever he/she is struggling with, no progress can be made. The student must be able to explore the options in front of them, with some guidance to help them down the right track, in order to best understand the material and truly be able to use their skills when they need them.

Calculus I Tutoring

At UNCC, I took Calculus I even after receiving sufficient AP scores to test out of the course. I achieved an A in the course with a final grade of 98.

Chemistry I Tutoring

At UNCC, I took Chemistry I and received an A. I have taken three chemistry classes, one at the college level. I have also taken, and received an A, in a college chemistry lab course.

Math Tutoring

As an engineering major, I have taken many levels of math. Math is a key component of many pre requisite courses and the major specific courses that I have/will completed. To get through an engineering degree, a solid understanding of math is necessary.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

Pre Calculus builds the base for all Calculus classes that follow. I took Pre Calculus in high school and have used those skills to achieve an A in AP Calculus, as well as Calculus 1 and Calculus 2 at UNCC

Algebra Tutoring

I took Algebra when I was in middle school. Algebra is a core concept throughout advanced mathematics. As I continue through my education, I continue to enhance my algebra skills.

Algebra II Tutoring

I took Algebra 2 when I was in high school. Algebra is a core concept throughout advanced mathematics. As I continue through my education, I continue to enhance my algebra skills

Mechanical Engineering Tutoring

Mechanical engineering is my major, so I have taken many classes in the subject. The ones that I have taken and received a grade that, in my eyes, is sufficient enough to qualify as a tutor are computational methods and thermodynamics 1.

Calculus 2 Tutoring

At UNCC, I took Calculus II my freshman year. I received an A for the class and am a preceptor (TA) for the course as well.
