Fun Facts
I am from San Diego, and spent most of my days as a child at the beach. I love cooking and baking. I spent a semester studying abroad in London and got to travel around Europe trying all the food there! In high school, I played field hockey and lacrosse, and volunteered at my local elementary school.
About Me
I am a sophomore at UC Berkeley. I am studying business and education. I would like to get my Masters in Education and become a teacher. Eventually, I want to go into public policy and reform the public school system. I love being able to work with kids at various Oakland and Berkeley schools.
Experience
Throughout high school, I volunteered three times a week at my local elementary school in the reading center for struggling students. Since starting Berkeley, I have tutored children in all subjects at an after school program in Oakland. I have also participated in CalReads, where I worked one-on-one with two 5th grade students to greatly improve their reading comprehension and confidence. I am also a part of BUILD, a literacy and mentorship program for elementary school students in Berkeley.
Approach
I have worked in many different schools in different regions, and have seen a lot of different styles. I have learned how important it is to individualize the lessons to each student's strengths and weaknesses. I like to create a personal connection with the students, so their confidence can grow along with their skill level.

Pre-Business
Algebra Tutoring
I took Honors Algebra in 8th grade, and received an "A" in the class. I helped many classmates with homework and study material throughout the class.
Algebra II Tutoring
I took Algebra II Math Analysis and Trigonometry in 10th grade. I received an "A" in each class, and helped many of my classmates.
AP English Tutoring
I took AP Literature in 11th grade, and AP Language and Composition in 12th grade. I received an "A" in each class, and scored a 4 on both AP tests.
AP Statistics Tutoring
I took AP Statistics my senior year of high school and received a high "A" in the class. I also scored a 5 on the AP test, and helped many of my classmates study. In college, I have taken 2 introductory statistics classes and done very well in each.
Calculus Tutoring
I have taken Honors Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB in high school. I received an "A" in each class, and scored a 5 on the AP test. I have taken college Calculus classes, and received As while helping other students in the class.
Calculus AP Tutoring
I have taken Honors Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB in high school. I received an "A" in each class, and scored a 5 on the AP test. I have taken Math 1A and Math 16B, two introductory calculus classes, in college and got an "A" in each class, while also helping my classmates.
English Tutoring
I took Honors English in 9th and 10th grade, as well as AP Literature, and AP Language and Composition. I received an "A" in each class, and got a 4 on both AP tests.
Geometry Tutoring
I took Honors Geometry in 9th grade and received an "A" in the class. I was often called upon by my teacher to help other students in the class.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I have helped numerous students in Berkeley and Oakland schools who struggle to get their homework done on time. I have worked in after-school programs to keep students motivated and to help them understand the subject material.
Math Advance Tutoring
I have taken Honors math courses throughout middle school and high school. I have taken numerous mathematics and statistics classes in college, and scored well in each class.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I took Honors Pre Algebra in 7th grade, and received an "A" in the class. I helped many classmates with homework and study material throughout the class.
Psychology Tutoring
I took AP Psychology my junior year of high school and received a 98% in the class. I went on to be a Teacher's Assistant for the class the next semester. I have also taken many introductory Psychology courses in college.
Statistics Tutoring
I took AP Statistics my senior year of high school and received an "A" in the class, and a 5 on the AP Test. In college, I have taken two introductory statistics classes and done well in each. I have tutored numerous classmates in college level statistics.
Writing Tutoring
I took Honors English in 9th and 10th grade, as well as AP Literature, and AP Language and Composition. I received an "A" in each class, and got a 4 on both AP tests.

Elementary Math Tutoring
I received straight As in math throughout elementary school. I have tutored numerous children in 1st-6th grade with homework, worksheets, and overall skills with mathematics.
