Fun Facts
My father is a College science professor so I have seen how to teach science to all age groups since he taught me a lot of what I know about science as I grew up. I also have a chocolate lab and love dogs!
About Me
My name is Alex Bode and I am currently a Junior at the University of Arizona majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology. I hope to eventually go on to medical school after I graduate with my B.S. I am from St. Louis Missouri and have lived everywhere from Chicago to Boston! I took the AP biology exam my senior year of high-school and received a 5.
I have tutored since I was in high-school, giving up my academic hour to help students struggling in biology and chemistry. I also have a year experience tucson">tutoring college students, and currently work at a local university back in Illinois tucson">tutoring students in chemistry.
My approach to tucson">tutoring is one on one practice and study skills wrapped into one. I not only want to help students to solve practice problems associated with the subjects they are struggling with, but also I want to help them establish algorithms a schematics to solve similar problems. This approach allows students to have tools to apply on tests and quizzes, all while helping to create a conceptual understanding of the subjects students struggle with. Also, and most importantly, I believe it is vital to have a non judgmental and friendly demeanor while tucson">tutoring, in order to establish the best possible learning environment; one where students are not afraid to say "hey I still don't understand this", or "how did you come to that conclusion".
