I was born and raised in England and moved to the US in 2004, still have the british accent! Someday I hope to go back and get to bag pack through Britain and Europe and get to visit a ton of historical places.

About Me

I just graduated in December 2016 from Northeastern Illinois University with a major in History. I just moved down to North Carolina after getting married to my husband this past month, and am currently in the process of taking my license to teach in the state of North Carolina. I have always had a passion for teaching, and for education.

Experience

While I lived in Jacksonville, FL, I had the chance to be a Sunday school teacher at a hindu temple for 7+ years. I received a lot of experience with teaching, and mentoring. I was also fortunate enough to have field experience at a low income/poverty school in downtown chicago where I fell in love with the students and atmosphere. It was so rewarding.

Approach

As a child, I struggled with certain subjects especially maths. My father always told me to try my best and that was the best that I could do. But after growing up, I found what subjects suited me best and what I excelled at: history. It was only at Northeastern Illinois University, that I found a professor who motivated me and never gave up on me. He showed me what I struggled with and although I took him every semester for two years, each semester I started to grow.
