About Me
I am a returning student to college. When I first graduated high school, I was so sure I wanted to major in International Business. I knew everything so I didn't listen to anyone's advice and I immediately signed up for business courses in my concentration. I didn't add any core classes to balance them. I found myself bored, uninterested, unmotivated and lost. I ended up dropping out of school as a result. Later, I met my husband, got married and had quite a few babies (four to be exact). I stayed home raising my children when times were good and worked to bring home extra income when times were bad. School was just a distant bad memory for me. But deep down inside, something was always missing. I don't even think I realized how much not finishing college had left me feeling unfulfilled and incomplete - until I went back two decades later. This time when I went back, I concentrated ONLY on my core classes; English, math, history, science, etc. It was an amazing learning experience. Through focusing on the core classes, I found what I loved and what I loved was a little bit of all of them. Doing it this way gave me a direction and a path to follow. I will then transfer to a four-year school for my Bachelor's of Science in Radiation Therapy, go back for a Bachelor's in Medical Imaging, and finish my education with a Master's in Medical Administration. See? It's all about pathways for me today. Work smarter, not harder.
