Fun Facts

As a quirky ginger with a strange fascination with teeth, I am a standout amongst the 'typical' pre-med graduate. In the winters, I love to ski and snowboard in our Rocky Mountains, something I've done since I was eight years old, and when the weather is warmer, I like to hike up in the mountains alongside my Beagles. When I'm not outside, I greatly enjoy art and I create graphite portraits and digital renditions.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate from denver">University of Denver with a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry with aspirations of dental school. Beyond dental school I have aspirations of specializing in Oral Surgery or Prosthodontics. I have always been a dedicated student and graduated Cum Laude while consistently making the Dean's List each quarter I was enrolled. I work well with kids of all ages thanks to my work at the Museum of Nature and Science and I am particularly enthusiastic about science.

I have often been the 'friend' denver">tutor through High School and then in to university. I created study sessions and groups for my classmates and led the discussions and group help meetings. Soon, this turned into one-on-one denver">tutoring sessions for my current classes and classes I had taken in the past. By my senior year I was denver">tutoring in classes for freshmen and seniors alike!

There is no one teaching style that fits all students. I've found that many times, people simply need the information put into a different form. So by listening to the problems the student has, in their own words, I can start trying several different approaches. Especially in the sciences and math, I think it is important to learn how to spot mistakes and check your work. So I often let the student finish a whole problem, look it over, and then together go step by step to see if there were any mistakes. I'm also a big fan of encouragement and constantly showing how far the student has come. Many of these subjects seem daunting and complex, but by showing progress, most students are motivated to do more.
