Fun Facts

I have always loved painting, drawing, art, and music. When I teach kids, I often try to incorporated music and art into classroom learning, because I think it's fun for everyone and a great motivator. I like having kids make their own planners that go by month, instead of a full year, which allows them to take pride and ownership in their organization.

About Me

I am a first year school psychology student at Tufts University where I currently have a GPA of 3.93. I have a bachelors degree in cultural anthropology with a minor in French. Growing up, I always excelled in math, writing, and art. My worst subject in high school was actually French, however, in college I studied abroad in France and grew to love the language, and it became one of my best and favorite subjects! After graduate school, I plan to be employed as a school psychologist in 2019.

Experience

I am a school psychology student, currently working in a high school as part of my job training, often working with kids on their executive functioning and organizational skills. I also have experience as a substitute teacher across all age groups and levels, but I worked for several years as a full time substitute teacher in an elementary school. I also have experience as a nanny for children with physical and cognitive disabilities.

Approach

School was not always easy for me as a child, socially and academically, because I was very shy and had a difficult time advocating for myself when I needed help. As a school psychologist, I strive to make learning enjoyable and empowering through good study skills and positive relationships with instructors and the subject matter.

Arts Tutoring

I took visual art all throughout high school, including taking AP Drawing and Painting. I also took a college level painting course.

Calculus I Tutoring

I have always excelled in math courses. I have taken honors-level high school algebra I, geometry, algebra II, and pre-calculus. I also took college level calculus and statistics and got A's in both. I mostly recently scored in the top 90 percentile on the math portion of the GRE.

I have recently taken the GRE for graduate school and scored in the top 90th percentile in both math and English. I also performed well on the written portion of the test. I took multiple GRE prep online courses, read books, and studied on electronic apps. I used a variety of strategies to bring up my initial GRE practice scores, and I feel confidently about tutoring to this test.
