Fun Facts

I moved five times before I was in first grade, which I think spurred my love of travel and going to new, exciting places. My favorite thing to do is read, I love being completely immersed in a book. I also love to run; I have run four half marathons in the past three years, I cannot imagine my life without running.

About Me

I am a rising sophomore at chicago">Loyola University Chicago and I am a double Art History and English major. I am from the suburb of La Grange Park, IL but I feel more at home in the city. My ambition is to work in the art history field, whether as a curator or a teacher.

This past spring (January to May) I volunteered for the chicago">tutoring program Chicago H.O.P.E.S through a group at my school called Loyola For Chicago. The program's attendance fluctuated, so I tutored a variety of kids but after a while I mainly worked with two little girls that were in kindergarden. My favorite part was how happy they always were when we came and picked them up at their shelter and I loved seeing them have fun and feel accomplished with the word and number activities that we worked with.

My approach with students is to show them that doing homework and learning is not a death sentence but something doable and fun. I think it is very important to work as a guide for the student through available practice problems and to help the student come to their own conclusions or answers. I think that it is also important to quiz the student because it demonstrates to them how much they have learned or still have to learn.
