Communication Tutoring

I have tutored and taught English to students of many different backgrounds. I taught TOEFL test preparation in South Korea, focusing on the areas of language production (speaking and writing). My experience includes pronunciation and speech classes, drama and poetry production.

English Tutoring

I taught TOEFL test preparation (listening, reading, writing and speaking) in South Korea. I have taught creative writing, grammar, speech and debate classes, as well as reading comprehension and test prep skills. I also have experience tutoring business and professional English.

Environmental Science Tutoring

I am currently majoring in Environmental Science. I have the ability to tutor in food systems/food politics, environmental ethics, and environmental policy. I spent most of my adolescent years and a lot of my adult life travelling the US; I also have a working/experiential knowledge of ecosystems and the greater US environment including conservation and restoration ecology.

Literature Tutoring

I majored in Spanish language and literature, and as such I have university-level knowledge of Spanish literature (focusing on Romanticism to contemporary literature).

Philosophy Tutoring

I spent two years studying philosophy in Divine Word College in Epworth, Iowa, as part of my discernment process into religious life. My skills in this area include ethics and environmental ethics, ancient and political philosophy.

Psychology Tutoring

I minored in psychology with a cumulative 3.8 in psychology. Courses I could tutor include social psychology and developmental psychology.

Religion Tutoring

I have spent the last three years in discernment of religious life with the Divine Word Missionaries, at Divine Word College in Iowa. I have a minor in philosophy as well as theology, and my daily life is devoted to religious practice and study. My skill set here includes spirituality, Christianity, world religions, inter-religious dialogue, and the Catholic church.

Writing Tutoring

My background includes teaching TOEFL test preparation in South Korea, with a focus on writing (and speaking) at the middle-school level. I have taught creative writing classes. As head tutor in my university one of my focuses was on college-level academic writing and the entire writing process. I have extensive experience working with ESL writers of all levels.

AP English Tutoring

I took the AP English test in high school and received a 5. My own interest in language has given me an advantage. I was inspired by a fantastic teacher myself in this class. This was one of my favorite classes in high school, and I hope to inspire others with such a passion for English!

Writing Advance Tutoring

Much of my experience as a teacher and tutor is with writing and ESL writing: TOEFL test prep (speaking and writing); academic writing at high school and university level; creative writing, five-paragraph essays, analysis, and much more.

Spanish Tutoring

I graduated from Western Washington University with a BA in Spanish language and literature in 2010 with an overall GPA of 3.8. I also studied abroad in Chile, and taught English there as well for a total of 1.5 years of immersion. I have my TESOL certificate which has given me the methodologies of teaching language as well. I have a great passion for languages. My teaching experience includes mostly middle-school level.
