Fun Facts
I have been a tutor for over two years at Cal. I hope to one day be a medical student and focus in psychiatry. I love to play guitar and surf too. I often am known as an outgoing, friendly person so don't be afraid to make me laugh! I am also a first generation college student who has moved from the LA area to the Bay for school.
About Me
I am an outgoing, friendly, and empathetic individual. I respond well to others' needs and stay organized to help in the most efficient way possible. I have worked with students from kindergarten through college sophomores, hoping one day to be a practicing psychiatrist.
I have tutored for BUILD in Berkeley to help underprivileged children in an elementary school setting. More recently, I have become a student facilitator at the University of California Berkeley's Student Learning Center. Using an approach in which I meet with other tutors and my supervisor weekly to discuss educational theory and technique, I continually polish and better my tutoring style and practice.
My approach to tutoring is to stay friendly, with a "no wrong answers" approach. I challenge my tutees to think critically, searching for the meanings behind answers rather than simply telling them. Working as a facilitator rather than an archetype tutor, I cater specifically to each individual's needs while understanding their strengths and weaknesses.
