Fun Facts

Personal fitness, through weight lifting and running, is one of my favorite hobbies. I used to play basketball for my high school team, and currently I still play in my free time. Occasionally I snowboard, and hike. I also enjoy playing video games such as Xbox or computer games.

About Me

I am a senior Mechanical Engineering student (with a Minor in Math) at the University of New Mexico (UNM). I plan to attend graduate school and pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering upon completion of my Bachelor's degree. As a college student I have had the opportunity to participate in several internships, most notably I have had the opportunity to work in the areas of geothermal energy, and advanced laser technologies. I plan to push my career path toward Alternative Energy.

Experience

The most relevant experience I have comes from occasional freelance math tutoring when I was in high school and starting college. I also frequently work with groups of classmates to understand material for exams and homework. This experience in groups prepared me by showing me how to communicate my understanding of a topic to other students.

Approach

One of the most valuable skills I have learned in my studies is how to learn. Through the many good teachers I have been fortunate enough to have, I learned several methods in approaching new skills, as well as reinforcing old skills. My approach is to determine the students preferred method of learning, then uniquely gearing the lesson towards the students method of understanding.

Calculus I Tutoring

Having nearly completed my degree in Mechanical Engineering I have frequently used calculus, thus I have a lot of confidence in my knowledge of the topic. I should also mention that I will be receiving a Minor in Mathematics.

Calculus 2 Tutoring

As with Calculus 1 I have used knowledge from Calc 2 very frequently in my education.

Calculus 3 Tutoring

I found Calculus 3 to be the most interesting of the calculus classes.

College Algebra Tutoring

Algebra is one of my strongest subjects not only in learning, but in tutoring as well. I have a lot of algebra experience from over the years.

Mechanical Engineering Tutoring

I will be graduating in May of 2017 for Mechanical Engineering. with a 3.48 GPA I have proved my comprehension in the subject.

Math Tutoring

Since I was a child I have had a passion for math. It has always been my strongest subject. What Engineer would be complete without math?

Math Advance Tutoring

As an Engineer I would not feel complete without math.

Physics I Tutoring

As a Mechanical Engineering student, I find that almost all of my classes are expansions on subjects covered in Physics 1. Being that I have nearly completed my degree I think it is safe to say I have solid foundation in the topics covered in Physics 1.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

In order to be successful in Calculus 1-3 it was important to have learned pre calculus. I will be knowledgeable on the subject as well as able to relate what the student learns in pre calculus to what will be covered in calculus classes.

Study Skills Tutoring

Through trial and error over the years I have developed adept study skills. I have the experience to show the student what methods work, and what habits to avoid. I will gear these lessons toward the student individually.

Trigonometry Tutoring

Many engineering technologies are based on the use of triangles (the basis of trigonometry). Because of this I have used trigonometry very frequently, the unit circle is almost second nature to me.

Algebra Tutoring

Algebra is the foundation to calculus, physics, and basically my whole degree. I have built a strong foundation in algebra, and have tutored students in the subject before.

Algebra II Tutoring

I have built a strong foundation in algebra, and have tutored students in the subject before.

AP Physics Tutoring

When I took AP Physics in high school, it prepared me very well for the classes i now take in college. Having covered all the basics, from classical mechanics to electromagnetic waves. I am very confident in my physics.

Calculus Tutoring

Having nearly completed my degree in Mechanical Engineering I have frequently used calculus, thus I have a lot of confidence in my knowledge of the topic. I should also mention that I will be receiving a Minor in Mathematics.

Calculus AP Tutoring

I have taken several classes in regards to calculus, I consider it one of my strongest subjects.

Geometry Tutoring

Geometry is very important to engineering, the shape of objects is very important in structure. I am on a student team building a rocket, without geometry It would be impossible.

Physics Tutoring

My physics class when I was in high school was very in depth, and very much prepared me for the classes i have taken in college. I know how to not only tutor, but engage students in the subject.

Pre Algebra Tutoring

I have built a strong foundation in algebra, and have tutored students in the subject before.

Science Tutoring

Due to my passion in the subject, I have always excelled in science classes. I not only have the knowledge, but I have real world experience with cool things like lasers and rockets.

MATLAB Tutoring

Early on in my degree i had an introductory course In which I learned the basics of coding in MatLab, later on I learned more complex methods of coding, involving Finite Element Analysis and Numerical Computation. I have the benefit of many hours in screen time with MatLab.

Microsoft Excel Tutoring

With the many lab classes I have taken, I have had the opportunity to analyse many experiments using Microsoft Excel. I have adopted skills in organization, formatting, graphing, and equation writing. Having received A's on most of my lab reports I feel confident tutoring this program.

Chemistry Tutoring

I took several introductory courses in Chemistry in college as well as high school. Several of my engineering classes relate to chemistry as we studied chemical bonds and their effect on material properties such as strength and toughness.
