Fun Facts

I am a licensed Private Pilot. I would argue that is potentially the most fun/ interesting thing about me. I am also a lover of the outdoors. I spend a lot of my free time fly fishing, hiking, skiing in the Winter, biking both mountain and road, shooting, and really anything else that gets me outside. I am also very well traveled, and I would say well cultured. I am fortunate to have traveled throughout Europe and to live out of the States.

About Me

I was born in Brussels, Belgium. I have lived in Brussels, Dubai in the UAE, Texas, and now Colorado. I have been in almost every Western European country on visits, and love to travel. I moved up to Colorado to attend the Colorado School of mines in order to earn my Mining Engineering degree, with the intent of going directly into the field upon graduation. I am entering my second year there, but am technically a Junior, based on my credit hours. I have been on the Dean's List for my entire college career at this point. I enjoy working with other people and passing what I know onto them. When I encounter something I do not know how to do, I will strive to understand it and learn how to do it in the future. I am a very quick learner, as is evidenced by my achieving my private pilots license in two months. I try to pass on my passion for learning and living to everyone I meet.

I have no official experience, meaning that I have never worked for a denver">tutoring company. But all throughout middle school, high school, and my first year at college, people would come to me for help and I would take the time to try and explain it to them to the best of my ability. I have had many people tell me I would make an excellent teacher and that I am remarkably patient. In fact a common joke around my floor in my dorm was that i should post office hours, so people could know when I was available; it was not uncommon for me to be help two or more people at once.

As it stands now my approach is to work through problems with people, and identify where they struggle then try to work through that struggle to help them to better understand what is going on. I don't believe in doing someone's work for them but will gladly work with them. I try to answer whatever questions they can bring to me and to help them understand concepts they may be struggling with. I also try to show them little tricks, that I have learned that make problems easier to do. I went to a High School that taught
