Fun Facts

One of my greatest interests is music, and I enjoy exploring it as an amateur musician. I have sung in multiple choirs and I play the flute. This past year I taught a Music Appreciation class to 6-8th graders. I am also really intrigued by languages; I studied abroad in Paris for a semester and have taught French, Latin, and Ancient Greek.

About Me

I graduated from Fordham University in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and classical languages. Since then, I have worked as a Communications Associate for Agenus, a biotech company. More recently, I just finished my first year as a middle school and high school teacher, teaching French, Latin, Ancient Greek, and Music Appreciation at Holy Name of Jesus Academy, a private boarding school in upstate New York.

Experience

I have nearly ten years of experience as a tutor and teacher. I began tutoring Latin in high school. In college, I served as a tutor in subjects from languages to math to homework help, to students from elementary to adult. I also tutored ESL to French-speaking students while in Paris. This past year I taught middle school and high school students Latin, Ancient Greek, French, and Music Appreciation at Holy Name of Jesus Academy.

Approach

I strongly believe that a tutor should be more than just a "human answer key"! There is so much more to learning than just memorizing some facts, and I believe a tutor's mission is to teach a student how to think and how to really understand the concepts at hand. If a student is struggling with a certain idea, I believe that, rather than take the easy way out and just give the correct answer, the tutor should really strive to help the student find the answer on his own.
