About Me

I am currently a Graduate student at LMU and work as an Instructional Assistant in the education/california/los-angeles">Special Education Department for beverly-hills">Beverly Hills Unified School district. I have worked with children for over five years and could not imagine myself doing anything else. My ultimate goal in life is to start a non-profit organization that provides homework help, test prep, and college prep and planning for students in disadvantaged settings. My immediate goal is to complete graduate school and become an Elementary school teacher.

I have tutored multiple students this past school year and worked to develop my own lesson plans and activities for each of these students. I tutored primarily English Language Arts, and Math for students ranging from grades 2-6. I recently started tutoring for a family privately and have also worked for a tutoring agency 1 A 1 Tutoria.

Tutoring provides direct instruction for students who need assistance in various academic areas. I believe in teaching concepts by modeling, and displaying information in a variety of ways using visual, auditory, tactile, and kinesthetic methods and resources. Students also benefit from being able to apply what they have learned to life outside the classroom, which is where environmental materials also come into play. Learning should be fun! So I also like to engage and motivate students with academic games that continuously develop their skills.
