About Me
I'm a 4 year Colorado resident currently pursuing a Master of Science in Bioengineering at CU Denver. I did my undergraduate work in molecular biology at Harvey Mudd College. In the time between I've worked doing cancer biology research at CU Boulder. My education and work experience makes me well qualified to denver">tutor any high school and AP level math and science classes
My first denver">tutoring experience came through National Honor Society in high school denver">tutoring classmates. After that I freelanced in college and while working at CU, denver">tutoring math and science. I specialized in AP level science classes but have tutored algebra, trigonometry and AP calculus as well.
As a denver">tutor I have general sessions where I go through the students assigned work with them, having them answer homework problems and explain their reasoning. If the answers are incorrect, I guide them to the key concepts that make the problem solvable. I never do the work for them, but use their explanations to identify what concepts they're missing and fill them in until they can do all of their work correctly. Before tests or finals I'll do review sessions where we go through textbook outlines of recent material and identify weaknesses together. I then help strengthen those areas pre-exam by doing practice problems that are either from the text if available or original.
