Fun Facts
My two favorite hobbies are volleyball and video games. I played volleyball all four years of high school for my high school team and for a club team on the high school off-season. I'm from Las Vegas, so most of the playing that I did was indoor, but beach volleyball is my passion. I enjoy playing video games like League of Legends and Smash Bros with my friends when I have free time.
About Me
I am a Johnson Scholar at Santa Clara University majoring in Accounting and Information Systems (with a minor in Art History!). I am a member of the honors college. When I graduate I hope to work as an investment banking analyst on Wall Street or as a consultant.
Experience
As a member of my high school's Mu Alpha Theta club, I had the opportunity to tutor my peers twice per week in math during my senior and junior years of high school. Additionally, I helped tutor students in honors and regular chemistry while taking AP chemistry in my junior year of high school.
Approach
My approach is not to help students simply solve the problems that they are assigned, but to help them reach an understanding about why they should solve the problems in a particular way. When a student is getting a part of a problem wrong, I don't merely tell them, "do this", I try to understand what they did, and make sure they understand not just what is the right way, but why it is the right way. I believe that establishing these fundamentals is crucial for all learning.
