Fun Facts
Since I'm from Wisconsin, it's only natural that my favorite food is cheese! I love spending time outdoors, hiking, swimming, and skiing. When I go home for the summer, I look forward to being out on the water, going to Milwaukee's biggest music festival, Summerfest, and seeing my dog!
About Me
I am a freshman at Santa Clara University majoring in Bioengineering with a minor in History. Here at school, I am a member of the University Honors Program and a recipient of the academic Robert Warren Scholarship. After graduation, I hope to attend law school and eventually use both my technical undergraduate degree and my legal training to become a patent lawyer.
Experience
I've been tutoring for five years now. Early in high school, I tutored elementary and middle school children in reading and math, including one special needs student. Starting my junior year, I began tutoring high school students as well as a member of National Honor Society. Finally, for the last two years, I have helped prepare students for the ACT, SAT, and PSAT because I achieved very high scores and was named a National Merit Scholar.
Approach
I believe in the power of experiential learning and positive encouragement. As a tutor, I want to help students find their path and help them towards academic success. By this, I mean that I will work within the constraints of each student's individual learning style to teach and encourage positive interaction with material that challenges him or her. I encourage students to check in between sessions and will do the same!

Bioengineering
Algebra Tutoring
During my elementary education, I was placed on the "double accelerated" track, taking math classes all two years before grade level. I have taken Algebra I, II, as well many much higher math courses. As a bioengineering student, I have continuously had math courses since elementary school and consistently achieved high marks.
AP English Tutoring
In high school, I took both AP Language and Composition, and AP Literature and Composition and achieved an A in each class. Also, I earned fives on each AP test. In college, I have been taking a course called Critical Thinking and Writing in which I have further honed my critical reading and writing skills. I take pride in my ability to write well, and would love to help develop students' skills.
Chemistry Tutoring
In high school, I took both Honors and AP Chemistry, earning a high A in each course. Additionally, I have earned an A in all the Chemistry courses for which I have yet received a grade. As a bioengineering student, I have taken and will continue to take many chemistry courses, keeping my skills and understanding strong.

Homework Coach Tutoring
I am qualified to be a general Homework Coach because I took four years of all core subjects in high school and have had a very diverse course load here at Santa Clara University. While I have consistently achieved high marks, I have had to work very hard for my grades and understanding and would love to share advice on study skills.

As a bioengineering student, I have excelled and especially enjoyed these science courses. Of course, the ACT science is heavy on tricky graphical analysis, in which I excel. I earned a 35 on Science on my ACT.
PSAT Tutoring
On the broad PSAT, I used my broad knowledge base and test taking skills to do well. I earned a 223, a score high enough to be named a prestigious National Merit Scholar.
SAT Math Tutoring
During my elementary education, I was placed on the "double accelerated" track, taking math classes all two years before grade level. I took Algebra I, II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus I, II, and III all before graduating high school. As a bioengineering student, I have continuously had math courses and consistently achieved high marks. I earned 800s on my Math section and Math II subject test for the SAT.
SAT Verbal/Writing Tutoring
In high school, I took both AP Language and Composition, and AP Literature and Composition and achieved an A in each class. Also, I earned fives on each AP test.
